*Bangkok*

*BKK airport*

Backed from BKK last week, it was really a GREAT Shopping Trip!!!
It was filled with never ending Walking, Sweating & of course Shopping, Shopping!!!
Everything was so cheap over there as compared to KL.
I should have bought Levi's over there!! Too bad, no time to go to the shop again!!
Shall get it next trip!

*We stayed @ RENO Hotel, which is opposite of National Stadium & MBK.*

*Some makan stalls right outside the hotel*

*4 Sets of Breakfast for you to choose*

We even went to Chatucak Weekend market twice on Saturday & Sunday. Walked for 1 whole day on Sat and another 1/2 day for Sunday. As it's really torturing to be in the market during noon time. It became so HOT & Stuffy!!! I really wondered how the hawkers there can stand this kinda of weather!! It's really killing people, sweating non-stop, the whole body became super sticky and covered with dust too!

However, pretty & cheap clothings, bags, handmade accessories, shoes save us from not thinking too much about the weather!! We all were too busy choosing the things we want and we tend to forget about the HOT weather. ^____^

If you're looking for clothes, I'll suggest you to go to Chatucak. But basically you can't try on the clothes or pants, it's mostly Free Size. The clothes over there is much cheaper than in Platinum Fashion Mall. You should ask the normal 1 piece price and also the wholesale price to see the difference. This rule applies either you're in Platinum or Chatucak. It'll be good if you're going with a group of friends as you can get to enjoy the wholesale price by buying at least 3 pieces or more.

But too bad our first stop for the first day was in Platinum Mall, so we already bought some clothes & dress over there ( You can't try in Platinum as well). Later only found out that the price in Chatucak is cheaper.

We also went to a shop which is selling handmade accessories like anklet, bracelet & necklace in Chatucak which is called "See Beads". It has a very unique deco, whereby the owner, which is a guy, he will change the deco of the shop everyday with different fresh flowers all over the shop.
On that day we went, he was decorating the shop with Orchid Flowers all over as well as Pandan leaves (I supposed). And I bought 2 necklaces & 1 anklet from him, the necklace is Rm 19 each whereas RM 7 for the anklet. Got this wholesale price as one of our friends bought a large quantities from him for her own business.

*Finally, the war is over!! Here what we got!!*

If you're looking for the trendy accessories ranging from earring, necklace or belt, Sampheng Market will be the best place for it. There're different kinda of earrings and necklaces until you don't know which one to choose from.
For instance, I bought these big earring in Platinum Mall which cost me 17 baht for one (We bought a lot and bargained with the girl, as the price initially was 20 baht), what I saw in Sampheng Market was only 1 dozen for 120 baht.
Gheez!!! Vomit blood once I saw the price! Fortunately, I only buy 2 pairs in Platinum.
But please bear in mind that Sampheng Market is selling the things in wholesale price so you need to buy at least 3 items or more.

There's also a shop selling different kinda of bags in wholesale price there. You can mix & match the bags, 6 for 900 baht; 3 for 500 baht; 1 for 200 baht. You just need to walk along the street in Sampheng Market and do go in to look around at the different shops in different buildings along the street.

*The bling bling gold*

How we get to know this place is because initially we just wanted to go to Chinatown for Bird's Nest dessert after the palace tour. Since we already bought the Unlimited Boat Ride ticket which cost us 100 baht for that day. So might as well we just stopped by at China Town along the boat ride. You just need to follow the crowd to walk for 5-10 mins then you'll get to walk into a lane ( a very crowded and small lane ) that filled up with people, and that will be Sampheng Market!
I saw the hairband which I bought in Chatucak for 89 baht, selling there for 45 baht each for 1/2 dozen. Shoes are selling cheap over there too, but you'll have to buy in bulk. So we didn't buy any shoes there.

*Cruising on Chao Phraya River, on the way to Palace*

After all the walking & shopping in Sampheng Market, finally we arrived in one of the shop selling bird's nest. (Sampheng Market & Chinatown is very close to each other, the end of Sampheng Market will be Chinatown.) The service is good in that shop, as they gave us free refill of Cold Chrysanthemum Tea. This is really refreshing after all the long walk under the hot weather! I ordered my Coconut Bird's Nest with ginko which only 200 baht, whereas Ping Ling ordered the normal one which is only 100 baht.

*Normal Bird's Nest, 100 baht*

*Bird's Nest in Coconut, 200 baht*

*Fried Quail's Eggs*

If you're hunting for shoes, I think you should go to those shops opposite of MBK shopping mall. You'll see inside the building there're lots of those small shops which are selling shoes and clothes. Price are reasonable, 1 pair of shoe is 199 baht. We bought from the shop upstair (I forgot which level, it's the one which open at 10am as we went there for last minute shopping on the last day). I realized that the cutting of the shoe and even clothes in Thailand are much more smaller size as compared to KL. So must measure and try a few times. By the way, I don't think MBK is good for shopping. First of all, it's a mall which full of tourists so the price is not that cheap anymore. Secondly, I find that the mall is not organized well. For instance, some place you'll see a row of shops whereas the other end you'll see many stalls. I don't have direction at all in MBK.

But there's a FUJI Japanese Restaurant at the cinema that level. My brother recommended me to eat at FUJI in Siam Paragon but when we arrived there around 7pm for dinner the other day, there was already a long queue, so we didn't try it.

Didn't get to try FUJI in MBK as well because we only saw it right after we had dinner in another restaurant. >____< I remember their set lunch, Beef Tepanyaki set is very cheap, 150 baht only which comes with rice and miso soup. As this is mainly a Shopping trip, so we didn't bother much for the food. Just eat what we saw along the shopping trip. But I did drink a lot of their blended mix fruit juice with ice which is selling beside the street to quench my thirst! Thank god no stomaches!! I did drink a lot of Betagen as well, same thing like Vitagen here, but a little bit sweeter. Oh yeah, we did purposely took skytrain to Thong Lo to buy the famous Mango Rice. Eventually we had supper there as well. I like the Mango Rice which goes well with the creamy coconut sauce and the crispy rice thingy I think (don't know what is that called). But for the supper, the BKK version of dry Wanton Mee, hmm, they put char siew and crab meat instead of Wanton. My friend saw the other table ordered that bowl come with Wantons, but due to language barrier, we just ate what we got. haha!!

*Wanton Mee without wanton, but with crab meat, 30 baht*

*Mango Rice, 60 baht, really nice!!*

*Singha is so refreshing after a long walk*

So, this is what we concluded for this shopping trip:

(1) Clothes - Chatucak
(2) Trendy Accessories, bags - Sampheng Market
(3) Handmade Accessories - Chatucak
(4) Shoes - Shops which located opposite of MBK

Lunch @ Yum Sap before going to the airport.

*Papaya salad with Mixed Seafood*

*Mama's Noodle, spicy & sour*

*Pad Thai*

*Lime juice goes well with Pad Thai*
