Annual Dinner @ Bangsar Seafood Village

Our annual dinner was held on 26.10.2007 at Bangsar Seafood Village.
There were only 5 tables with around 50 staffs, and each of us will be entitled with a gift from the lucky draw!! The only difference is whether you're getting the expensive or the cheap ones, ranging from varieties of electrical stuffs to travel voucher!!!

* The Menu*

We had a 10-course dinner, similarly to those Chinese wedding dinners that we usually have. The food is not bad, what I like the most will be the Baked Lobster with minced Garlic & Butter, Pan Fried Prawns with Homemade Sauce & Steamed Patin with Soya Sauce! The lobsters are really fresh, surprisingly it's way more better than the ones I had in Sydney Fish Market. As I always think lobster meat is very "hard", but the one I had yesterday is very "chewy", goes very well with the garlic & butter.

*Shark's fin with fresh scallops*

*Yum Yum Lobsters, the portion is a bit small*

Stir Fried scallops with asparagus*

As for the prawns, this dish will be definitely going well with white rice, especially the sauce, it's a combination of spicy, sweet & sour flavors! You'll feel that it tasted a bit salty for the first bite, but you'll be craving for more after that!

*Prawns that I like*

The Steamed Patin is very fresh, but too bad the waiter didn't help us to cut the fish, so we had to cut it our own. Kind of troublesome as I couldn't cut it nicely, poor fish which ended up looking terrible after the cutting process!

*Steamed Patin*

And we had to wait for sometimes for the serving of next dish for yesterday dinner. Basically I don't like this kind of waiting as your mood of eating will tend to drop after the waiters had changed you a new plate but the dish is yet to arrived.

Deep fried Crispy Sotong is a flop among all the dishes. It's seriously not CRISPY at all, and the sotong is like rubber band, eating it is like exercising your gum!

*Really bad fried sotong!*

*Fried Rice, not bad*

I didn't like the Stir Fried crab with salted egg yolk personally. It's too dry for me, I prefer crab dish with sauce, especially where you can dip and eat with toast bread!
And the Chinese Pancake is so so OILY!!! Not crispy and tasteless! Really disappointing!!
Fortunetely the red bean paste is the version I like, the "rough" one, it will taste even better if they added in dried mandarin skin!

*Salted Egg crabs which I don't like*

* Oily Chinese Pan cakes*

*Red bean soup which is lacking the taste of dried mandarin skin*

The most exciting part will be the Lucky Draw Time!!! Guess what, I was the Top Last 5, which means that I was so near with the Grand Prize!! Really unexpected that I could go to the last round!!! Even though I didn't get the grand prize, still grateful with what I had, the 4th prize, which is 1 night hotel stay in Renaissance. I shall be going there to celebrate my birthday next year, non-stop partying!!! Yeah!!!

*Me with Sue Ann and our gifts*

* what I got in the end*
