Bangkok Trip Day 2

We left the guest house around 10am and decided to have late breakfast
at Central Food Court.
Since we didn't get to eat there last night.

We ordered these:

*of course not all!!!*

*But this one - Fried Oyster Omelette*

*Yum Yum!! So FRESH!!*

*Frying my oyster omelette*

*Super crunchy!!!*

*Really nice to go with the Thai Chili Sauce*

*Fish Balls Kuey Teow*

The Kuey Teow just tasted so-so. But with lots of fish balls! 60 baht

*Braised Pork with Rice*

Thumbs up for this!! The gravy is so tasty to go with the rice.
And the pork is just nice to eat.
90 baht for this set.

*Very Yummy!!*

Okay, below is the pic which shows the Thai version of Toys 'R' Us:

*Me with the Thai giraffe*

While mum and I were trapped at Naraya, Dad was having his tea-time at Starbucks.

No one kacau us so we shopped happily in Naraya.

After some shopping in Naraya, it was time for lunch!
We wanted to have Japanese Food, so here we are!!
FUJI^^

*Bro ordered the Shabu-shabu set - 170 baht*

*My Tonkatsu Set - 120 baht*

* Mum ordered the Special Steak Lunch (Chicken) Set - 150 baht*

* Very juicy!*

*Dad's Yakiniku Beef Set - 150 baht*

*Assorted Tempura - 210 baht with 5 prawns!!!*

Overall, we had a good experience in eating at Fuji.
The service is good & efficient.
Food being served very fast once we ordered.
Furthermore, the food is very nice!!!
Good quality of food in low prices!!!
If we had this meal in KL, I think it will cost us around RM 150++.
But the same meal in Bangkok only cost us 880 baht!!!
Half of the price!!
I'll definitely be visiting FUJI very often when I'm in Bangkok next trip! hohoho!!!

I saw this "LOVE" sign inside of Central. Reminds me of the Japanese dramas.
We went back to the guest house after lunch for some rests.

We decided to settle our dinner at Siam Paragon.
As it was so hot outside, better eat at some air-conditioner eateries.

This was our dinner place, I forgot the English name for it.

And we ordered Tom Yum Kung, Pad Thai, Fried Fish and Fried Pork Slices.

*Tom Yum Kung*

*Pad Thai*

*Fried Fish*

*Side Dish with Fried Fish*

*Fried Pork Slices*

Right after dinner, we went to the supermarket to grab some food stuffs like Green Curry Tuna, Chips, Fruits and mango sticky rice as supper!!

Before heading home, we stopped by at Swensen's for ice cream!

*Chocolate Tower*

*And this is our supper*

*Super sweet & juicy mangoes, 150 baht for 2.

This ended our second day in Bangkok.

Accomodation in Bangkok - Urban House

There's this small pond outside Urban House.
The gold fishes are so cute^^
Really admire them as they still can survive under the extreme HOT weather everyday!

For this family trip to Bangkok, we decided to stay in this Guest House which is called
"Urban House".
Found this guest house through a forum and it is highly recommended by all of the forumers who has stayed there before as the owner is friendly and helpful,
location is convenient and price is reasonable.
Majority of the guests are from Taiwan & Hong Kong.
It's a private house which is transfered to Guest House.
Located at Soi Yommarat, Silom, it's only 5-10 mins walk to BTS Saladaeng station and Silom MRT station.

There's a small shopping complex nearby which is Silom Complex and also Robinson (but closing down soon as it's having clearance sale when I was there)

Urban House is a 3-storey building and it only has 5 rooms available.
Quite privacy in a sense there are not many guests.
And it's always fully booked, so do book in advance if you decided to stay here.
The owner "Kwang" is also in the same building

A corner in Urban House

Lobby of Urban House

There are free reference of Guide Book for Thailand which are available at the lobby.

We booked 2 suite rooms, RM 130 per night per room together with light breakfast.

There's a small kitchen area in the suite room (cooking utensils and gas stove are not available).

Lounge area

Bathroom

And this is what light breakfast is:

Local Fruits, Orange Juice, Fresh Milk, Assorted Hot Drinks & Toast

Poser look!
It reminds me the good old days in aussie, as my face is as round as a big pancake!
Due to this food hunting trip.

For your info, every Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 2 pm,
there are road stalls setting up along the small lane heading into Urban House.
Thus there'll be traffic congestions if you're going to Urban House at that time.
We experienced that during the first day when we arrived.
I really admire all of the car drivers in Bangkok!
Their driving skills are superb! I don't think I'll dare to drive there.
Anyway, you can find great bargain along the stalls, trust me!!
I spent 630 baht in 15 minutes grabbing 4 short pants and 3 dresses.
The quality is not bad for that kind of price!
Great bargain, isn't it??
Provided you can stand under the hot sun to shop!!!

No regret staying in Urban House!

Edited (17/5): This guest house might not suitable for elderly as there's a narrow staircase to the rooms. You might be having problem carrying all the way up for your big luggage, but no worries, you can separate your things into small bags and carry them.

It's a Food Hunting Trip in Bangkok! Day 1

Warning: Please don't look at this post if you're too hungry!!!

Day 1:

Right after we got down from the plane and went to the Immigration...oh gosh!! There was a super long queue there!! Fortunately all the counters were opened and the officers were super efficient.
I was even directed by the guard to use this counter:

"DIPLOMATIC & OFFICIAL" ^^

So we went straight checking-in to Urban House at Silom.
Then we to "Ban Khun Mae" which is located opposite of Siam Paragon to have authentic Thai cuisine as our first lunch.

We ordered Fried Shrimp Paste Rice, Fish Cake, Steamed Lime Fish and not to forget the mango sticky rice as dessert.

Tadaaaaaa.......and our favorite Thai Dessert! The Mangoes are super juicy & sweet!!!!!!!

After the yummy lunch, we went to shop around in Siam Paragon.
And we had MOS Burger as tea-time snack!

As for dinner, we went to Central World and wanted to eat at the Food Court there for the Braised Pork Leg. But too bad, we were late and the Food Court was closed.
So we went to the Sing Ha Beer Festival down there as there were lots of Food Stalls which are selling Local Thai Street Snacks like these:

The food looked tasty, sadly not nice.
Can't just end our first dinner like this!
No way!!
Hence, we went to Pratunam to look for Chicken Rice.

How I wish there'll be boneless Chicken Rice in KL!!!

The special sauce is so nice to go with the Chicken!!
As for the rice, I'll prefer the KL version, as it's much more fragrance & tasty!
So, if we can have the special sauce + boneless Chicken+ KL version of the rice = Best Combination ever!

There's a Wan Ton Mee stall nearby, and we ordered 1 packet to take away. We wanna try Thai style Wan Ton Mee!

Also has Char Siew like us^^ and tasted good too!!

Mango Sticky rice ended our supper! hoho!!

See, I told you it's a truly Foodie Trip!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this song...

*The MV seems just so-so...
But Victor has always been good in singing this kind of love song!*
